Mourinho changed course after goalkeeper report: "The search is unnecessary"

Fenerbahçe has abandoned the idea of hiring a new player to replace Dominik Livakovic .

With the completion of the 2024-25 season, the rumors that “Dominik Livakovic will leave and a new goalkeeper will be transferred” that were on Fenerbahçe’s agenda came to an end with the training camp.

The Yellow Canaries' goalkeeper in the new season is entrusted to Livakovic, İrfan Can Eğribayat and Tarık Çetin, who came up through the youth academy and was added to the team the other day after playing for Çaykur Rizespor last season.

Fenerbahçe, who were seriously interested in Uğurcan Çakır at the beginning of the summer transfer window, shelved their search for a goalkeeper after this transfer did not materialize.

"Search is unnecessary"

It became clear that there would be no goalkeeper transfer, with manager Jose Mourinho stating, "The search for a new goalkeeper is unnecessary when we have two good Turkish goalkeepers and the Croatian national team's goalkeeper." (Hürriyet)
